I am a portrait and wedding photographer, and I believe that love stories should be neverending. Growing up, I was the girl with a camera at every school field trip, birthday party, get together, etc. So you can imagine what MySpace looked like; if you are not familiar with MySpace, congratulations! You are officially making me feel old!
It wasn’t until I married my best friend in 2014 that I fell in love with the wedding industry. I wanted to be a part of it. To be able to capture the love stories behind every couple and being able to remind them of that love by creating a beautiful heirloom album or a canvas that can be passed for generations to come.
Another thing I enjoy photographing is family portraits! I strive to make it a fun experience for the whole family, especially the little ones. I could go on and on about why I love what I do, but at the end of the day, my favorite trait about my job is that I get to capture those precious and memorable moments and freeze them in time — allowing you to cherish them for years to come.
I grew up in a border town called Agua Prieta in Mexico. You might be able to spot it on some maps, but not all. I went to a Catholic School for eight years and moved to Mexico City in my freshman year of high school. There was a culture shock! I went from a small town to one of the biggest cities in the world! After living there for four years, I realized big cities were not for me. I decided to move to Tucson, AZ in 2008 and I have lived here ever since! What I love about living in Tucson is that it’s a big(ish) city with a small-town vibe. At least that’s been my experience so far. And food! Seriously, there are so many delicious places to eat! My only complaint? The summer heat. I’ll stop there.
As I have mentioned before, I got married in 2014 to my soulmate and best friend. We now have two beautiful, smart, and funny children; Chachi (4) and Calliope (2). We also have two Shiba Inu’s! I’ve had Chipis since she was a puppy and she is now ten years old. We also have Chavo… he is very… unique! Chavo was born in my bedroom back when I was single, and he is now eight years old. My husband and I are prominent University of Arizona Wildcat fans, Especially when it comes to basketball. March Madness is one of our favorite “holidays.”
When I am not driving around dropping Chachi off at school, going to swim lessons, gymnastics, or trying to hit the gym, my husband and I try to spend time together without our children. We believe it is essential to spend time together without distractions to keep the romance alive. We both read a book that helped our marriage tremendously after we became parents and all I have to say is this. If you are getting married, already married, have children, or plan on having children, you are going to want to read my next blog post. I promise you; it will change your life!
